Mrs. Maria Skowron, 76, died on Monday, April 12, 2021. Born, March 9, 1945 in Crimmitschau, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Konstanty and Marianna Kapica Silanow. Maria was born in a German Labor Camp during WWII, while her mother was imprisoned. That camp was liberated by the United States Military freeing Maria and her mother allowing her to have a life. She was a member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Cheraw and was a retired office manager with the United States Embassy in Poland. Maria also loved traveling with her husband.
Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Danuta Silanow and Elzbieta Ubysz (nee Silanow).
Maria leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Bolko Jerzy Skowron of the home; her son, Tomasz Filipowicz of Lesznowola, Poland; a sister, Alla Krzeminska of Warsaw, Poland; and a granddaughter, Sasha Filipowicz.
A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the Rosary at the Funeral Home.
