John Moore

John Moore

John Tennyson Moore, 82, a veteran and resident of Cheraw, SC, died on June 28, 2021 in his home. John was the son of J. Leland and Mary Willis Moore and graduated from McColl High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church Cheraw.

He is survived by his wife Palmyra Pruitt Moore, daughter, Helen Moore Hitchcock of Germany, grandchildren, Will and Emily, son and daughter-in-law Leland and Jessica Moore of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren, Garrison, Gabby and Grayden and sister, Carolyn Garey.

He attended Clemson College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. John worked for INA Bearing Company for 41 years as an Engineer. John was an avid photographer and volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 655 for over 40 years.  John started the beginning soccer program at Cheraw Parks and Recreation.  He was active with First United Methodist Church of Cheraw, SC.  He was an active volunteer with Red Bird Mission in Kentucky and the Habitat ReStore of Cheraw, SC. John had four loves: God, Family, Porsches, and the Clemson Tigers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday 7/3/21 at 3pm at First United Method Church 117 3rd St., Cheraw, SC  29250.

Visitation after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
