Joan Easterling

Mrs. Joan Mayhew Easterling, 70, died on Saturday, February 27, 2021.  Born, September 5, 1950 in Danville, VA she was the daughter of the late Rison Elwood Mayhew, Jr., and the late Lula Rowland Marshall.  Joan loved to laugh and take care of animals as well as working in her yard, planting flowers, decorating, taking trips with Crystie to Virginia and annual vacations with the CUZINS.

Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by stepmother, Jane Howle Mayhew; brother, Jackie Mayhew and niece, Rebecca Mayhew Cassidy.

Joan leaves behind to cherish her memory, a sister, Wendy Mayhew (Michelle Meteraud) of Charleston, SC; a niece, Crystal Mayhew McQuage (Jason) of Southport, NC; her great-nephew and light of her life, Johnathan Cassidy; stepfather, William Marshall of Lynchburg, VA; nephew-in-law, Johnny Cassidy of Cheraw, SC; mother of her nieces and sister of the heart, Catherine Thompson; and “THE CUZINS” of Virginia.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw.  A private memorial service will be held following the Visitation.
