Harriette Jill McDuffie McLain, 63, died Thursday, June 25, 2020. Born in Newberry, SC she was the daughter of Mattie McDuffie of Cheraw, SC and the late Wade McDuffie. Jill was quite the free spirit. To know her was to love her. She was a creative soul that excelled in anything pertaining to arts and crafts. Her passion was to paint and she loved to paint beautiful landscapes, flowers, and nature scenes. She had so much love for animals and people. She did anything she could to help those around her and had a heart of gold, and like any southerner, she made sure you never went hungry.
Throughout her life she suffered many ailments and hardships, but persevered through them all with the spirit of a fighter. Her soul was that of a child, innocent and free. One would only need to laugh with her to understand. She had the innate skill to make something out of nothing, turning even the simplest idea into a work of art. She loved to decorate and beautify any surrounding she resided in. She loved her family and did anything she could to try and make them feel happy and loved. She is at rest with her dear father and grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Aaron Keith of Charlotte, NC, her mother listed above, sisters, Angela M. Smith of Cheraw, SC, and Fran Tinney of Cheraw, SC.
She was preceded in death by her father listed above and her grandmother, Mary Adam McDuffie.
