Willie Alvin Smith, 73, died Saturday, August 2, 2014. Born in Moore County, NC he was a son of the late Luther Bryant Smith and Polly Cox Moore. He was the retired owner (35+ years) of Piedmont Welders of Wallace, SC. He had 35 welding certifications. He had worked in most of the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Surviving is his wife, Pam Alexander Smith of the home, a son, Ken Smith of Cheraw, SC, a daughter, Tammie Smith of Cheraw, SC, brothers, Bryant (Peggy) Smith of Cheraw, SC, Gene (Norma) Smith of Farmville, NC, a sister, Carolyn (Roger) Gallagher of Wallace, SC, two grandchildren, also, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, a brother Frankie Smith and Harley Jackson “Jack” Rushing, Jr. who was as close as a brother, and best friend, for over 40+ years.

A visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. Burial will be in Old Saint David’s Cemetery.
