Randy “Catfish” Parker, 68, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Born in Cheraw, South Carolina, to Floyd and Frances Parker, Randy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before retiring from INA Bearing in Cheraw. Known for his exceptional skill as an electrician and his ability to fix or fabricate anything, Randy was admired for his creativity, humor, and generosity. An avid outdoorsman, Randy earned his nickname “Catfish” doing what he loved most — fishing the Pee Dee River and Santee Cooper. If he wasn’t at home, he was likely on the water, rod in hand and a few more baited nearby, sharing stories and laughter. His quiet strength, good humor, and willingness to help others made him a cherished part of the Cheraw and Wallace communities.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Frances Parker; his brother, Ricky Parker; and his nephew, Ray Adams.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Butler Parker of Wallace; his siblings, Claudia Freeman of Wallace; Kathy (Jimmie) Teal of Wallace; James (Diana) Parker of Conway; his Aunt Gloria Trader of Hartsville, and a special family member, Johnny (Bertha Sue) Butler of Hartsville. Stepdaughter Carrie (David) Wilson of Hartsville.
Nieces and nephews include James Brock of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mandy (Andy) Griggs of Benton, Louisiana; Mike Teal of Cheraw; Tyra White (Mark) of Florence; Gene Freeman of Wallace; and Jarame (Sonia) Parker of Moncks Corner.
Great-nieces and great-nephews include Drew Griggs of Aurora, Colorado; Lizzie Griggs of Ruston, Louisiana; Joseph White of Florence; and Sabrina and Bridget Teal of Cheraw. Step-Grandchildren include Wyatt and Maggie Wilson of Hartsville.
Randy’s legacy of kindness, humor, and craftsmanship will live on through his family and the many friends who loved him. His laughter, his stories from the river, and his generous spirit will echo in their hearts forever.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Kiser Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held following the visitation, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Kiser Funeral Home.
