William Jacobs

William “Bill” Arthur Jacobs, 87, died Saturday, January 11, 2014. Born in Cheraw, SC he was a son of the late William Allen Jacobs and Jessie B. Jacobs Hudson. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving in the church choir, also as a past deacon and elder. Mr. Jacobs enjoyed singing in church, gardening and the outdoors. He was a skilled woodworker and built his family’s home.

Surviving are his wife, Mary B. Jacobs of Cheraw, SC, a son, William Anthony “Tony” Jacobs of Patrick, SC, daughters, Patricia “Pat” (Phillip) J. Robbins of Charlotte, NC, Mary J. “Mitzi” (Barry)  Amerson of South Port, NC, grandchildren, Jacob Robbins, Seth Robbins, Leah Robbins Noe, great grandchildren, Sarah Kathryn Noe and Oliva Grace Noe.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and brothers, John B. Jacobs, Allen C. Jacobs, Ernest B. Jacobs, Robert D. Jacobs, sisters, Janie J. Parker, Ora J. Boan and Sara J. Adeiny.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, Cheraw, SC. A visitation will follow the service and will be held in the church parlor. A private committal service will be held after the visitation.
