Mr. William Edward Ingram, 74, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023.  Born, August 3, 1949, at the home of his parents, William Harley Ingram and Eloise Driggers Ingram in Cheraw, SC by Dr. Maxie Hooks.

 

Edward, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a disabled Vietnam Veteran.  He arrived in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne but was assigned to Americal 196 Light Infantry as a Radio Mechanic out in the field in Cam Rahn Bay Vietnam.  After that, he was sent to Germany for four months with the 3rd Armored Division 1st 32nd Armored before being sent back to the United States for medical reasons and discharged.

 

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, listed above; a son, Brian Edward Ingram; and a sister, Kathy Ingram Brown.

 

Edward leaves behind to cherish his memory, a sister, Libby Pigge (Jimmy) of Cheraw, SC; a brother-in-law, Roy Brown of Cheraw, SC; a nephew, Andy Pigge (Erin) of Florence, SC; a niece, Crystal Teal (Danny) of Cheraw, SC; four great-nephews, Will Parker, Judah Britt, Liam Pigge, and Lucas Pigge; and one great-niece, Legacy Teal.

 

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Kiser Funeral Home.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Patrick Town Cemetery in Patrick, SC.

 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, just prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

 

The family would life to thank the staff at Veteran Village in Florence, SC for everything they done to make his life the best it could be from February 14, 2023, until now.  We would like to especially thank Frost A Staff for their everyday care.  Before arriving there, we would like to thank Heritage Home of Florence, SC for the wonderful care he received for several years.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Forest Pine Independent Baptist Church, 7761 Teal’s Mill Road, Cheraw, SC 29520; or to a charity of one’s choice.

 

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Ingram family in their time of grief.
