Mr. Walter James “Walt” McQueen, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Born, October 25, 1948, in Chesterfield, SC, he was a son of the late Brooks and Eula Mae Evans McQueen.

Walt dedicated many years to his work at Delta Mills and Carolina Canners and was a valued member of Maranatha Family Center. Known for his generous spirit, he found joy in traveling, gardening, and maintaining an immaculate home.

Along with his parents, listed above, Walt was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa McQueen; brothers, Samuel McQueen and Arthur McQueen; and a sister, Louretta Blakeney.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his stepdaughter, Kissa Brody of New York; a brother, Zeldon McQueen of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Juanita Cassidy of Cheraw, SC and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Kiser Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Patrick, SC.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service on Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the McQueen family in their time of grief.
