Walter R. Davis, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born in Chesterfield, SC, he was a son of the late Cole and Ruth Davis.

A devoted member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bennettsville, SC, Walter enriched his community by overseeing the church's food bank and generously cooking for every church event. Known fondly as a hardworking and skilled sportsman, he pursued hunting and fishing well into his 80s. Walter’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident in his love for selling watermelons throughout the community. His sharp sense of humor and strong character were matched by a deep commitment to helping others.

He is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Robert (Linda) Davis, Woodrow Davis, WJ (Linda) Davis, and Ronnie (Peggy) Davis; his sister, Bonnie (Charles) Allen; and several cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mildred Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife that he adored and loved dearly, Agnes “Lavon” Davis, his parents listed above, and a sister, Mildred Davis.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Kiser Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Kiser Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the cemetery of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Bennettsville, SC.
