Virginia Carolyn Ballard Moore , 87, died November 23, 2012. Born in Athens,
GA she was the daughter of the late Jesse Jay and Ethel Susan Chandler Ballard
and the widow of William "Bill" Crawford Moore, Sr. She was a member of St.
David's Episcopal Church, where she had served as President of the Episcopal
Church Women and the Alter Guild. She was a past Regent and member of Old
Cheraws Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Moore was
a graduate of Shorter College and the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts and Drama. She was a Key Member of Thalian-Blackfriars Dramatic
Club, Speech Honor Society and the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority (Chaplain). She
enjoyed reading, music, and teaching drama. She was involved with the success
of the Cheraw Theater On The Green. Mrs. Moore gave private speech classes
and was an instructor at Chesterfield-Marlboro Technical College (Northeastern
Technical College).

Surviving are her son, William Crawford Moore, Jr. of Cheraw, SC, two
daughters, Nancy Moore Sowell of Myrtle Beach, SC, Carolyn Moore Atkinson of
Hartsville, SC and five grandchildren, Jamie Bennitt, Jency Bennitt, Becky Moore,
Katie Moore and Josh Atkinson.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 25, 2012
at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. David's
Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Old St. David's Episcopal Church Cemetery.
