Thelma W. Cottingham, 90, died Saturday, April 14, 2018. Born in Gibson, NC, she was a daughter of the late Archie Ed and Ava Ransom Walters. She was the widow of LeRoy Gene Cottingham. She was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed rock and arrowhead hunting, enjoyed traveling, fishing, and church functions. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by a son, Tim (Suzanne) Cottingham of Cheraw, SC and a daughter, Jean Teal of Mooresville, NC, a daughter-in-law, Darlene Cottingham of Cheraw, SC,  grandchildren, Leigh (Kevin) Griggs, Dawn Hollis, Jennifer (Atif) Khawaja, and Justin (Kimberly) Teal, and great-grandchildren, Sierra, Mason, Christopher, Chloe, Caleb, Claire, A.J., Ava Grace, Noah, and Landon.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents listed above, sons, Keith Cottingham, and Hamer Cottingham, a daughter, Ava Lynn Cottingham, a grandson, Stephen Leroy Lewis Teal, brothers, Bruce Walters, George T. Walters, Ed Walters, Bennie Walters, and sisters, Ina Odom and Agnes Gandy.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Kiser Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. David’s Church, Cheraw, SC.

Burial will follow at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, SC.
