Ronald Edward Chapman, 74, died Sunday, May 18, 2014. Born in Society Hill, SC he was a son of the late James Coit  and Beaulah Renoylds Chapman. He was the widower of Grace Driggers Chapman. He enjoyed fishing, working on his tractor and growing a garden. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved to watch Westerns on TV and taking care of his family and friends.

Surviving are his daughters, Debra (Roger) Oxendine of Society Hill, SC, Carol (Bobby) Purvis of Society Hill, SC, Rhonda (Theo) Lindsey of Cheraw, SC, sisters Clara Kenny of New Rochelle, NY, Martha Ann Gardner of GA, grandchildren, Bryan (Christy) Chapman, Roger (Josette) Oxendine, Jr., Jason (Kacee) Purvis, Melissa Chapman, Joseph Purvis, Rebecca Lindsey, Jacob Lindsey, great grandchildren, Alyssa Chapman, Journey Chapman, Wyatt Purvis, Talon Oxendine, Leah Purvis and Coit Chapman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife listed above, also, a brother, James Coit Chapman Jr., sisters, Virginia Dailey, Ruth Dailey, Betty Potter and Mary Cottingham.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the home of Debra Oxendine.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Welch Neck Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
