Randy Lee Jewart, 65, of Cheraw, SC passed way on Friday May 2nd, 2025, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 2025 at 5:00pm at Kiser Funeral Home, with a memorial service following at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
Randy was born and raised in Vandergrift, PA. He was the son of the late Jack Eugene Jewart Sr. and Rose Marie Silva Jewart. He was a 1977 graduate of Kiski Area High School in Leechburg, PA. It was there he met the love of his life; Debbie Brock and they were married 10 years later in September of 1985. A year later Randy received an offer to become a full-time firefighter in Cheraw at Cheraw Fire Department, following in his father’s footsteps, and so began his career doing what he loved most. Several years later he would begin to raise his family and continue his career for the next 31 years. In his free time Randy also enjoyed working at Moree’s Cheraw Country Club. Randy was a true public servant and always put the needs of others before his own. He completed his career as a Lieutenant of Cheraw Fire Department, and retired with honors on August 7th, 2017. Randy wasn’t quite finished and decided to continue his career and took a job with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office. In 2021, Randy became an armed security officer at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Cheraw, where he remained until his passing. His true passion was following his children all over the state over the years, whether it was cheering his son on at football games or supporting his daughter at band competitions. He was a true family man, who loved his children dearly. He proudly began his new role as a grandfather in 2015, and again in 2019 when the other two loves of his life, his granddaughters were born. The next 10 years were spent chasing them around and being the most amazing grandfather.
Randy touched the lives of many people over the years and was loved by everyone who met him. His smile was contagious, and he loved helping others. Randy will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debra Jean Brock Jewart of the home. His children, Nathan (Carrie) Jewart, of Chesterfield, SC and Sara Marie Jewart of Chesterfield, SC. A brother Jack E. Jewart, Jr. of West Leechburg, PA. Two sisters, Kim (Ron) Cochran, of West Leechburg, PA and Dorrina (Karl) Martini of Monroeville, PA. Two grandchildren, Mackenzie Noel Jewart, and Addyson Jean Jewart. He was survived by many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
