Nora “Becky” Summerlin, aged 70, of Society Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Born in Raeford, North Carolina, she a daughter of the late Ruby Mae and Chesley Thomas Crouch, Jr.

Becky was a dedicated Sunday School teacher at Welsh Neck Baptist Church in her early years. Known for her charming punctuality quirks, it was affectionately coined as the term “Becky Time.” A gifted gardener, Becky had a remarkable talent for nurturing plants and flowers, helping them to thrive. Her compassionate spirit extended to animals, often welcoming and caring for strays. An artist at heart, Becky found joy in crafts, music, and writing poetry, enriching the lives of those around her.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Larry Summerlin, her son, Heath (Amanda) Summerlin of Cheraw, SC; her daughter, Michele (Kerry Berry) Summerlin of Chesterfield, SC; her brother, David Crouch of Calabash, NC; and her sister, Rachel (Bill) Wilson of Cottage Grove, MN. Becky also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Jessica Southerland, Brittany Kelly, and Dennis Summerlin, along with great-grandchildren McKynzie, Mya, McKayla, Marley, Anna Claire, Grayson, Skylar, Huntley, and Kamari.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Jason Covington, and her brothers Timothy “Tim” Crouch and James “Jamie” Crouch.

Her warm heart and creative spirit will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Midway Baptist Church.

A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM.
