Mattie Mae Bickley McDuffie, 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Born, July 5, 1932, in Whitmire, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Preston and Willie Mae Johnson Bickley.

A devoted member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Cheraw, Mattie contributed generously to her community by teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and participating in various church committees. She enjoyed a career as a cosmetologist and worked as a cloth inspector at Highland Industries. Her passions included tending to her garden and cherishing every moment spent with her beloved family.

Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Harrison McDuffie; her daughter, Harriette Jill McDuffie; brothers, Preston Bickley, Joe Bickley and Hugh Bickley; and her sisters, Faye Simpson and Mary Alice Craft.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Angela K. McDuffie Smith and Francine McDuffie Tinney of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Aaron Conner Keith, Kenneth H. Smith, Zachary H. Smith, Russell A. Tinney, Mica P. Tinney, Michael A. Tinney and Neal M. Tinney; and ten great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Kiser Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
