Mary Wilson Hook Lewis, 80, died Sunday, April 15, 2018. Born in Bennettsville, SC she was the daughter of the late Dr. Maxcy Wilbur Hook and Mary Wilson Meiklejohn Hook. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and Duke University where she was the president of her senior class. She was a retired teacher. Mrs. Lewis was a loving, kind and generous lady, who was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving are her sons, Rear Adm. John Nowell, Jr., of Arlington, VA, and Dr. Mac Nowell, of Chapin, SC, a daughter, Nancy Nowell, of Charleston, SC, sisters, Elisabeth Cullinan of Columbia, SC, and Henrietta Malloy Hook Kollitz of Cheraw, SC.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Nowell and her parents listed above.

A graveside memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
