Luther McKinnley “Mike” Quick, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Born, December 12, 1951, in Cheraw, SC, he was a son of the late Luther Frank and Allene Haire Quick.
A proud veteran, Mike served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. Following his service, he became a traveling welder. Dedicated to his faith, he was a Deacon at White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Wallace, SC. Mike's passions included hunting, fishing, and coaching numerous sports teams in Chesterfield, SC. An avid sports fan, he particularly loved the Gamecocks. Above all, Mike cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, listed above, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Lavon “Yogi” Quick.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Callie Rogers (Paul) of Hartsville, SC; a step-son, Colie Davis of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren, Maddie Rogers, Claire Rogers, Sophia Davis, and Lleweyn Davis; a brother, Dean Quick (Tara) of Holden Beach, NC; a sister, Darlene Blue of Wallace, SC; beloved mother of their daughter, Tammy Davis; his best friend, Homer Farmer (Sue) of Carthage, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Wallace, SC. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service at the church.
