Lloyd Cleveland Gainey, 71, died Thursday, February 14, 2019. Born in Cheraw, SC, he was the son of the late William Wallace and Carrie Mae Teal Gainey. Lloyd was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving during the TET Offensive. He enjoyed reading and researching family history.

He is survived by his wife (of 47 years), Delores Gainey of the home, daughters, Allison Gainey (Brian) Marlowe of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Amanda Robin Gainey of Myrtle Beach, SC, a sister, Lois Van Dyke of Lindale, TX, Sisters-in-law Sandy Gainey of Gibsonville, NC, Brother in law Donald Gibson (Jan) of Atwater, CA, nephews and nieces, Bryan Gainey of Mebane, NC, Brandon Gainey of Mebane, NC, Breanne(Devin) Payne of Burlington, NC, Brandon (Katherine) Garner of Raleigh, NC, Nephews Corey Gibson (Amanda) of Atwater, CA, Adam Gibson (Jamie) of Merced, CA, and beloved pets, Cricket, Zoey, and grandpets, Miley, Piper, and Lotus. He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, and a brother Wallace “Junior” Gainey.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Kiser Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Kiser Funeral Home.

Burial with military honors will be in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.
