Landon Scott Sellers, 20, died on Monday, May 4, 2026. Born in Florence, South Carolina, Landon was the cherished son of Tammy and Scott Sellers. A proud 2024 graduate of Cheraw High School, a member of Cheraw High FFA, he also earned an Agriculture Pathway Completion certificate, reflecting his passion and dedication. He was saved at SummerSalt Church Camp, was baptized at Cheraw State Park and attended Cheraw First Baptist Church.

Landon was a shining star on the baseball field, proudly wearing the number 5 jersey and giving his all for his team. To his baseball family across the state, he was known as “Big Country.” To his family and close friends, he was known as “Smiley,” given to him in his earliest days, his infectious happiness and warm spirit touched everyone he was around. He had an incredible ability to make friends effortlessly, never meeting a stranger, and always ensuring those around him felt joy and comfort.

Landon’s larger-than-life personality made him a protector to his friends and family. His heart was boundless—he loved fiercely, would never say no to those in need, and embraced life with openness and honesty. He brought laughter and playfulness into the lives of those closest to him, sometimes teasing in his unique way, but always with a deep love.

Beyond his vibrant spirit, Landon found great joy in hunting, fishing, and the thrill of fast motorcycles. These passions were part of the adventurous soul that defined him.

He is survived by his parents listed above, sisters, Amber (Joe) Mason, Shayna (Jax Teal) Sellers, all of Patrick, SC, aunts and uncles, Ricky and Elaine Sellers, Kenny and Regina Sellers, and Timothy and Michelle Sellers, and Furman “Bud” Smith, nieces, Leigh Ann and Amelia Mason, brothers at heart, Landon McCune and Bryck Driggers, grandparents at heart, Mikey “Mike” and Nancie “Nay-nay” Chewning, and Willa Johnson, family at heart, Tracie and Todd Stubbs, and their children, Anna Weslin, Bella and Emeri Kate as well as numerous cousins, family and past teammates.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Furman and Frances Smith and Richard and Shirley Sellers.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Cheraw First Baptist Church.

A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Cheraw First Baptist Church.

Any attending baseball players are asked to wear their jerseys, in remembrance of Cheraw Braves #5.
