Juliette Pleasant

Juliette Ross Pleasant, 70, died Thursday, June 26, 2014. Born in Wadesboro, NC she was the daughter of the late George Hammond and Jane Baldwin Ross.  She was the widow of David Earl Pleasant. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina. She had been a teacher at the Cheraw Academy.  Mrs. Pleasant was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church. She had served on the board of St. David’s Day School as Treasurer. She had helped manage the Inn Cheraw and the Cheraw Country Club. She had served as the office receptionist of Cheraw First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Most of all she loved being a grandmother.

Surviving is her son, Ralph G. “Andy” (Lynn Moore) Martin, III, of Charleston, SC, a daughter, Caroline Martin (Tommy) Stokes of Florence, SC, grandchildren, Connor Stokes and Brylee Stokes and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above and a brother, George Hammond Ross, Jr.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Cheraw, SC. Burial will be in Old St. David’s Cemetery.
