Joseph L. Baumgardner, 70, died Friday, May 12, 2017. Born in Gastonia, NC he was a son of the late Benjamin Thomas and Gertie Elmina Hamm Huffstatler Baumgardner. He was retired from Ina Bearing.

Surviving is his wife, Judy Payne Baumgardner of Cheraw, SC, a son, Joey (Augusta) Baumgardner of Bennettsville, SC, daughters, Doris (Mark) Morton of Cheraw, SC, Jeana (Bobby) Gann of Grover, NC, Tammy (John) Hutchins of Wilkesboro, NC, Elaine Baumgardner of Wilkesboro, NC, a brother, Gene (Becky) Baumgardner of Gastonia, NC, sisters, Bentha (David) Crooke of Winston-Salem, NC, Susan Huntsinger of Mooresville, NC, 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday, May 15, 2017 at Cheraw Church of God.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM, Monday, May 15, 2017 at Cheraw Church of God. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery.
