John Grigsby

John Franklin Grigsby , 63, died, Thursday, February 14, 2013. Born in Laurens, SC, he was the son of James Allen Grigsby of Fredericksburg, VA and the late Ada Ruth Edge Grigsby. He was an U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Grigsby was a graduate of Wofford College and Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He also was a graduate of Rhyma Bible Training Center. He had served a Minister of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Bethel United Methodist Church both in Bennettsville, SC. He was an associate minister of Maranatha Family Center in Cheraw, SC. He was instrumental in establishing Saturday "Sunday School." He had worked with the worship services in the Evans Correctional Institution and the Marlboro County Detention Center.

Surviving are his son, John David Grigsby of Calabash, NC, his father listed above, brothers, Tom Grigsby of Reston, VA and Jim Grigsby of Culpepper, VA.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Bennettsville, SC.
