Cheraw, SC

John Nance Bennett, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Born, August 28, 1939, in the Angelus Community of Chesterfield, SC, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Eula Mae Rivers Bennett.

John's early years were filled with joy, playing with his siblings and enjoying sports like softball. Known for his fondness for bright colors, he frequently visited Pruitt’s Store for a Pepsi and snacks. A friendly soul, John delighted in social interactions and participated actively in church services at his nursing home.

Along with his parents, listed above, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Horton and Bobbie Bennett.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory, his brothers, Lewis Bennett (Mary Rose) of Waco, TX and Jimmy Bennett (Mary Ann) of Ranger, TX; sisters, Delores Roysden (David) of Lafayette, TN and Peggy Smith (Bryant) of Cheraw, SC; his niece and caregiver, Cindy Brigman of Cheraw, SC and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Kiser Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM on Tuesday August 11, 2026 at Kiser Funeral Home. 

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Bennett family in their time of grief.
