Jim Linton, 90, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Born in Darlington County he was a son of John Henry and Sarah Wilson Linton. He was a  World War II, US Army Veteran. Mr. Linton was retired from Delta Mills. He enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers and his dogs.
Surviving is his wife, Lessie Gainey Linton of Cheraw, SC, sons, Ronnie Linton of Hartsville, SC, Joey Linton of Cheraw, SC, J.C. Linton of Wallace, SC, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a nephew, David Linton of Cheraw, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and sons, Don Linton, John David Linton, Bob Linton, a brother, Wadis “Shorty” Linton and a sister, Rachel Gainey.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Harris Creek Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
