Jerry Junior Freeman, 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born, August 27, 1948, in Marlboro County, SC, he was a son of the late Howard Vernon and Lizzie Scott Freeman.

A man of few words, his quiet demeanor belied a profound ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His love for the outdoors, whether hunting in the crisp morning air or casting a line into still waters, was matched only by his remarkable talent for nurturing life in his garden. Plants that others deemed beyond hope flourished under his care.

Along with his parents, listed above, Jerry was preceded in death by his sons, Leonard Freeman and Jerry J. Freeman, Jr.; brothers, James Freeman and Kenneth Ray “Pete” Freeman; and a sister, Mary Jones.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Sue Turner Freeman; a son, Randy Freeman of Cheraw, SC; daughters, Loretta Angie Freeman of Cheraw, SC and Wendy Bryson (Shannon) of Merrit Island, FL; sisters, Kathryn Hodge of Belton, SC and Brenda Turner (Billy) of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren, McKenzie Jackson, Destiny Freeman, Johnathan Freeman, Tashawnda Moore, Katie Freeman, Carrie Buchanan, Forrest Privette and Shannon Bryson; several great-grandchildren and his best fishing buddy, Jeff Zearfoss.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Kiser Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Freeman family in their time of grief.
