James Charles “Ram” Driggers, 79, died on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Born in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of the late Claude and Lola Hudson Driggers. A graduate of Clio High School, he became an entrepreneur at an early age, buying, raising and selling cattle as a teenager. After high school, he had several jobs, one being running Community Grocery in Clio until it was sold. He then began working for Glenn Manufacturing in Wadesboro, NC in the receiving department until it’s closing and eventually retiring from Campbell Soup Company.

Ram enjoyed fishing throughout his life and raising rabbits, he had a passion for all animals, especially cats, having as many as 13 at once. An avid South Carolina Gamecock fan, he could often be found watching football in the fall.

He is survived by his brother, C.L. “Sonny” Driggers of Cheraw, SC and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, and an infant brother, Donald Eugene Driggers.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
