James Edward “Pete” Braswell, Sr., 79, died Monday, August 21, 2017. Born in Wadesboro he was a son of the late Floyd William and Janie Miles Braswell. He was an avid NASCAR fan and also Dirt Track Racing. He was a welder/supervisor and had worked around the world. He enjoyed working in his yard.

Surviving are his sons, James “Chuck” (Elizabeth) Braswell, Jr. of Stanfield, NC, Jody (Vicki) Braswell, Cheraw, SC, a daughter, Tammie Johnson, Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Tracey Bey, Shannon Rosner, Lewie (Alexis) Rosner, Dana (Tommy) Wilson Meyer,  Jodie (Jamie) Braswell, Taylor Freeman, Miracle Braswell, great-grandchildren, Austin, Barbara, Joey, Illiyun, Camden, Kiara, Domique, Kian, Kiro, Jayderus, Jace, Jaxon, great great-grandchildren, Trivon, Cameron, brothers, Floyd William Braswell, Jr., Larry (Betty) Eugene Braswell and a sister, Betty (LeRoy) Braswell Lear.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, also, a daughter, Buffi Braswell, a grandchild Alaina Polson and a brother, Kenneth Braswell.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 25. 2017 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.
