Freddie Lorenzo Montgomery, aged 60, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1964, in Monroe, NC, to the late Geraldine Montgomery.

Freddie was devoted to his family, finding joy in spending time with them, particularly with his beloved grandchildren. His love for his wife, Julie Croutch, was evident in everything he did. He took pleasure in leisurely days at the beach, cheering on his favorite football teams, and enjoying a cold beer.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Croutch; his sons: D’Shawn Montgomery (Vanessa) of Mt. Croghan, SC, Gage Montgomery of Cheraw, SC, and Dewayne Croutch of Marshville, NC; his daughters: Kimberly Medlin of Charlotte, NC, Dashonna Croutch (Kyle McIntyre) of Wadesboro, NC, and Rikki Drake of Wadesboro, NC. Freddie is also remembered by his brother, Ray “Chubby” Montgomery; his sister, Teresa Montgomery; and his brother-in-law, Roger Scott Pressley. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous cherished grandchildren, including Shihem Medlin, Makayla Brown, Antavious Brown, Antavion Brown, Damarion Montgomery, D’Niylia Montgomery, December Montgomery, Amarian Croutch, Ivyana Croutch, Zenndaya Daniels, Nevaeh McIntyre, and Zaylynn Jackson.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
