Elsie Faye Haire Ashburn, age 84, peacefully passed on Monday, February 24, 2025. Born on September 18, 1940, in Marlboro County, she was the beloved daughter of the late William McKinley and Mamie Lucy Dunn Haire.

Mrs. Ashburn retired from Sarah Lee Hosiery and dedicated her time to her passions, which included camping, traveling, and being an active member of the Ladies Wire Group. She was a devoted member of White Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Wallace, SC, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, touching the lives of many in her community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Ashburn; a granddaughter, Suzanne Graham Harmeling; her sisters Allene Quick, Jeannie H. Harrelson, and Zena Mae Hamrick; and brothers Ernest Haire, Orville Haire, Ray Haire, and Zeb Haire.

Elsie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory, including her son, Richard “T.O.” Ashburn of Wallace, SC; her daughter, Sheila Ashburn Graham of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren Brandy Ashburn, Justin Ashburn, and Kristi Boob (Brad); great-grandchildren McKenna Ashburn, Mason Spradley, Chloie Spradley, Faith Ashburn, Isabella Ashburn, Gracie-Mae Lohman, Bailee Boob, Kallie Boob, and Kamryn Boob; as well as a great-great grandchild, Haven Graham. She is also survived by her sisters, Lois Stewart, Leila Haire, and Maxine Newton (Stewart), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2028, at White Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Wallace, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the church.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Asburn family in their time of grief.
