Elizabeth Ann Halvorsen

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Halvorsen, 78, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Born, April 18, 1944, in Long Branch, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Henning M. and Ida Caroline Taylor Halvorsen.  She received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, and a Master’s Degree from State University of New York at Buffalo, NY.  She was an avid reader, and a History Buff, who enjoyed traveling, and music. Elizabeth also learned to speak Norwegian.

Along with her parents, listed above, she was preceded in death by her brother, Henning Martin Halvorsen, Jr.; and a sister, Jean Chase.

Mrs. Halvorsen leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, John Sturgill (Ann) of Morven, NC; daughters, Angelene Sturgill of Wallace, SC, and Michele Sturgill Druffner (Keith) of Kennesaw, GA; a sister, Mary Holland of Highlands, NJ; grandchildren, Noah B. Sturgill, Mariah C. James (Jasper), Elijah J. DeHosse (Meagan), Sarah E. Wagner, and Micheal K. Wagner; and four great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.
