IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Eugene
Patrick, Sr.
January 8, 1943 – March 24, 2026
Cheraw, SC
Edward Eugene Patrick Sr., 83, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Born in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late George and Gladys Patrick. A dedicated truck driver and skilled mechanic, he left behind a legacy of hard work and devotion to family. Edward graduated from a vocational high school where he studied auto mechanics. His love for working on vehicles and small engines was well known, and alongside his father-in-law, he was regarded as one of the finest shade tree mechanics in Society Hill from the 1970s through the early 1990s.
Edward cherished simple pleasures such as smoking his pipe and spending time in the mountains, which held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by Linda Dailey Patrick Robinson, the mother of his children.
He is survived by his children, Eddie Patrick, Jacob Patrick (Holly), Joy Patrick Jones (Chris), and Chris Patrick (Tracey). His loving family also includes grandchildren, Zaiden Patrick, Cody Patrick (Glenna), Peyton Patrick (Courtney), Emily Patrick, Stephen Wallace, Benjamin Wallace, Jessie Jones, Timmy Jones, Carter Jones, Aiden Boan, and Austin Patrick, as well as great-grandchildren Reid Patrick, Cleo Patrick, and Hasher Jones.
In accordance with Mr. Patrick’s wishes, there will be no public service. He chose to be cremated, with his ashes to be lovingly scattered at his favorite mountain location. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date to honor his memory.
Edward Eugene Patrick Sr. will be remembered for his skilled craftsmanship, his love for family, and his peaceful moments in the mountains he so adored.
A very special thank you to his amazing and compassionate Dementia Capable Care Certified Agape Care Group hospice team. Specific gratitude is extended to his nurse April Rayfield who is pictured in this obituary. Mr. Patrick was absolutely enamored with her sweet spirit. Love is extended to his CNA Felicia Strong for the personal care she provided and the godly witness she always is, Chaplain Jesse Looney who affirmed his faith in Christ, and Social Worker Jesse Grainger for his support to the family as they navigated through the difficult journey that comes with being a caregiver of a loved with dementia.
A special thank you to the staff of Rehab Center of Cheraw and the care they gave to Mr. Patrick.
