Douglas "Doug" Britt Grant

Mr. Douglas “Doug” Britt Grant, age 76, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born on September 26, 1948, in North Carolina, he was the son of the late Joe and Vera Britt Grant. Doug had a profound love for fishing and collecting antiques. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Gayle Melton Grant.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Grant (Amy Stroud) of Cheraw, SC; his daughter, Hope Castor of Cheraw; brother, Henry Grant (Etta) of Jefferson, SC; five grandchildren: Brittany Grant, Allie Chavis (Cody), Sarah Castor, Carson Castor, and Ciera Grant; a great-granddaughter, Eden Chavis; a nephew, Joe Grant (Sam) of Lancaster, SC; a niece, Melissa Anderson of Jefferson, SC; and a great-nephew, Roman Anderson of Jefferson, SC.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC. Burial will follow in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or to the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind, 355 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
