Dennis Morris Pressley, a devoted husband, father, and proud Navy veteran, has passed away peacefully at his residence in Cheraw, South Carolina, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, on February 27, 1947, Dennis led a life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.
Dennis was a respected Sales Representative in the plumbing industry, known for his integrity and genuine care for his customers. His work ethic and passion for his craft spoke volumes about his dedication and expertise.
A man of faith, Dennis was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, finding solace and community within its walls. He was also an esteemed member of the Monroe Masonic Lodge, embodying the principles of brotherhood and camaraderie.
In his free time, Dennis found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cruising on his beloved Harley Davidson, witnessing the growth and accomplishments of his grandchildren in their extracurricular activities, or exploring the great outdoors as an avid hunter.
Dennis will be dearly missed by his loving wife Susan Pressley; his sons Matthew McLain (Jennifer) of Lexington, SC, and David Pressley (Tiffany) of Marshville, NC; daughters, Erin Byrd (Rodney) of Cheraw, SC, Megan Pressley of Cheraw, SC, and Leigh Ann Corbin (Brian) of Asheville, NC; a sister, Wanda Altman (Pete) of China Grove, NC; grandchildren, Logan Byrd, Jackson Byrd, Mattie McLain, Reed McLain, Thomas Corbin, Jane Corbin, and Easton Pressley; a brother-in-law, Ralph Little of Concord, NC; a daughter-in-law, Julie McLain of Aiken, SC; a special caregiver, Clova Smith of Cheraw, SC and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and country will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. and Alice Sartin Pressley, and a sister, Carolyn Little.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cheraw, SC. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the church.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 602 Market Street, Cheraw, SC 29520.
