David Glenn Horton, 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born, November 5, 1947, in Worcester, MA he was a son of the late Archie Martin and Laila T. Salo Horton.

Proud of his Finnish heritage, David honorably served with the 1st Logistical Command of the United States Army during the Vietnam War in 1968 and 1969. David worked as a manager for Quality Seafood in Worcester, MA and was a Machinist for Prime Air Blowers in Worcester, MA. After retirement he worked part time for Enterprise Car Rentals in Auburn, MA. He was a member of the Maranatha Family Center in Cheraw, SC, as well as the Mid-State Antique Auto Club in Leominster, MA, and the Auburn Sportsman Club in Auburn, MA. An enthusiast of antique cars, he cherished his 1978 Mercury Cougar and enjoyed both visiting the gun range, fishing and home repairs.

David was an exemplary husband, father, and grandfather. Known for his generosity and understanding nature, he always prioritized his family, offering his skills and love unconditionally.

David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Laila and Archie Horton.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and adored wife of 50 years who says that David was an Outstanding Husband, Joyce C. Horton; his only daughter, Angela Lee Campbell and husband, Christopher of Bennettsville, SC; a brother, Paul S. Horton and wife, Nancy of Sterling, MA; a sister, who referred to David as the Gentle Giant, Janet Susan Horton of Venice, FL; a grandson, Christopher Lee Marshall and wife, Rebecca of Forney, TX; and nephew, Sean Horton of Sterling, MA.

At the request of David, no formal services are planned at this time. David will be interred at Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC.

Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Horton family in their time of grief.
