Connie Douglas Covington, 87, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Born in Hemingway, SC she was a daughter of the late Neal and Sara J. Owens Douglas, and the widow of Malcolm Lee Covington. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Bennettsville, SC. She enjoyed spending

time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her great happiness. She also loved to knit and crochet, and enjoyed teaching others the practice. Connie enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She enjoyed tending to plants and had quite the green thumb. Her favorite was the Christmas cactus.

Surviving are her daughters, Pamela (Pete) Baker, Jan (Doug) Rogers all of Cheraw, SC, grandchildren, Anna Baker (Craig) Watson, Allison (Shawn) Nettleton,  Todd (Stephanie) Rogers, Rebecca Caroline Baker, and great-grandchildren William Ingold, McKenzie (Matt) Cunningham, Emily Nettleton, Luke Nettleton and Sadie Nettleton. Special caretakers, Mehalia Morrow and Nellie Joines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, as well as a brother, J.W. Douglas, sisters Alene Hill, Vivian Wallace, and Ann Hartman.

The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 19, 2018 in the funeral home chapel following the visitation. Internment will be 4:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2018 in McCall Cemetery, Bennettsville, SC.
