Betty Jones Starling

Betty Jones Starling, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Born in Marlboro County, South Carolina, she was a cherished daughter of the late Guy and Lucille McCall Jones.

Betty dedicated many years of her life to her work as a nurse with Dr. Thrailkill, where she touched the lives of many with her compassionate care. An enthusiastic Atlanta Braves fan, she delighted in watching westerns, cooking, and tending to her garden. Christmas was a particularly special time for her, filled with joy, family, and love. Most importantly, she cherished her role as a grandmother, finding immense happiness in the lives of her grandbabies.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Cindy Williamson Ingram of Chesterfield, SC; Deanna Williamson Skidmore of Cornelius, NC; and Pamela Williamson McClure of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Betty is also survived by her sister, Mildred (Virgil) Crenshaw of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren Thomas Kyle (Lacey) Lewis, Jessica Lewis (Peanut) Holt, Trevor Wayne (Debra) Ingram, Kelsey Allyn Skidmore, Nicholas Peele, Lyndsey Peele (Mike) Stacey, and Hanna Marie McClure; as well as ten great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, John Edward Williamson; her parents, Guy and Lucille Jones; a brother, Ernest Lee Jones; and a sister, Sara McCarter.

Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her memory be a source of inspiration and comfort to those she leaves behind.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Kiser Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Kiser Funeral Home on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
