Alice Crowley Martin, age 73, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Born in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late Howard Evans and Pauline Mildred Walters Crowley.

Alice retired after many years of dedicated work in both the textile and grocery retail industries. She was a former employee of Delta Mills, where she formed many lasting friendships. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including cooking, cleaning, cross-stitching, crocheting, and gardening. She especially loved preparing hearty meals and taking care of those around her. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and her beloved “fur babies.”

She is survived by her husband, Samuel A. Martin of the home; sons, Chad E. Hood (Dawn) of Cheraw, SC, Shawn Crowley (Heather) of Summerville, SC, and Arnie Darrell Martin (Michele) of Society Hill, SC; daughters, Carey Ann Martin of Columbia, SC, and Gay Lynn Martin Davis of Society Hill, SC; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her cherished Chihuahua, “Peanut.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jean Martin, and her sisters, Janie Locklear and Mildred Walters.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Kiser Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wallace, SC.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

In addition to the visitation at the funeral home, the family will be receiving friend at the home of Chad and Dawn Hood, 140 Eden Lane, Cheraw, SC 29520.
