Alice Lightbody “Granny” Driggers, 81, died October 9, 2015. Born in Diamond Lake, IL she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Portegys Lightbody. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Wallace, SC. She had served her church as a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and member of the United Methodist Women. She had served as Secretary of the local chapter of the Woodmen of the World and had be a volunteer at McLeod Health Cheraw (Chesterfield General Hospital). She had a “green thumb” and was known for her ability to revive plants and flowers. Mrs. Driggers was always exquisitely dressed for all occasions, especially holidays and special family events which she loved to celebrate. She enjoyed coloring with Crayola Crayons, working puzzles and sending cards to people for birthdays, weddings, Holidays and special events.

Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Francis W. Driggers of the home, sons, Pastor, Donnie (Diane) Driggers of Cheraw, SC, Doug (Jerry) Driggers of Wallace, SC, daughters, Christine Terry, Stacey (Bruce) Puette, Laura (Ralph) Driggers all of Wallace, SC, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a brother, William Lightbody of Crystal Lake, IL, sisters, Dorothy Miller of Mundelein, IL, Frances Inman of Zion, IL, Margaret Bowie of Ingleside, IL, Nancy (Robert) Remika of Buena Park, CA, Charlene (Orin) Hapke of Madison, WI, Paulette (Charles) Peters of Libertyville, IL and Mabel Sutton of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, also, a brother, Robert Lightbody, sisters, Mary Helen Moist, Louise Lightbody and a great grandchild, Madelyn Robinson.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Wallace, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
