The following services are arranged by Kiser Funeral Home:
Mrs. Powe was born on July 5, 1930, in Burlington, a daughter of the late Melvin C. and Sadie Montgomery Stafford. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and had an extended study at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She also worked with the North Carolina Historical Society.
Mrs. Powe enjoyed reading and collecting antiques, but first and foremost she was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, her husband Dr. Harry L. Powe Jr. preceded her in death, to whom she was married 57 years and a sister Betsy Stafford Rosemond.
Surviving are her children, Harry L. Powe III of Charlotte, NC, Betsy Ann (Douglas) Tippens of Stanfield, NC, grandchildren Robert and Thomas Schmidt of Charlotte, NC, Alicia Powe-Hatley and Jason Hatley of Albemarle, NC and Michael Patrick Powe of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are her two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Powe demonstrated a great loyalty to her friends and had a special caring for all those she knew and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Old St. David's Episcopal Church with burial in Old St. David's Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC and after the service at the cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials be sent to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale Street, Memphis, TN 38105.
James "Jimmy" Ross Hildreth, Jr., 52, died Thursday, August 26, 2010. Born in Cheraw, SC he was a son of Shirley Hodge Hildreth Allison of Wallace, SC and the late James Ross Hildreth, Sr. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Bennettsville, SC. He enjoyed Hot Rod Cars, Classic Cars and Motorcycles.
Surviving are his spouse, Lisa Herndon of Bennettsville, SC, a son, James "Jamie" Ross Hildreth, III of Bennettsville, SC, a daughter, Tina Hildreth of Las Vegas, NV, his mother listed above, a brother, Robert "Bob" Lee Hildreth of Wallace, SC, a sister, Sue Hatcher of Wallace, SC and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. Burial will be in Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Bennettsville, SC.

Irene P. Brasington, 80, died Sunday, August 22, 2010. Born in Folkston, GA she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Geneva Lois Wainwright Prescott. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC, the Bible Study II and the Henrietta Isgett Sunday School Class. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, church activities and being with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, Andrew Eugene Brasington of Cheraw, SC, sons, Gene Brasington, Duane Brasington both of Cheraw, SC, daughters, Linda B. Zimmerman of Boiling Springs, SC, Cindy B. Polson of Cheraw, SC, a brother, W.R. Prescott and a sister, Iris Thrift both of Hilliard, FL. Also, grandchildren Tim Zimmerman, Melody Zimmerman, Ashlee Brasington and Roxie Brasington.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above and her brothers, Theodore Prescott, Eston Prescott, Troy Prescott and J.W. Prescott.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC. The family will receive friends, in the Family Life Center of the church, following the memorial service.

Jeff D. Yarborough, 68, died Sunday, August 22, 2010. Born in Olanta, SC he was the son of the late Ernest Linwood and Francis Virginia McLendon Yarborough. He served on a church scholarship committee that help numerous students achieve their academic quest. He helped countless people with personal financial matters. He was retired from banking with 45 + years of service. Mr. Yarborough tirelessly assisted individuals obtaining needed benefits and services from governmental agencies. He was a Mason. He served as Sec./Tres. of the Cash Rural Fire Department. He enjoyed talking and being with family and friends. Mr. Yarborough was a man of strong conviction and would stand firmly for what he believed to be right. He was a devout Christian and truly loved helping his fellow man.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Scott Yarborough of Cheraw, SC, sons, Cleve Yarborough of Hartsville, SC, Davis (Amy) Yarborough of Ruby, SC, a grandchild, Alana Blair Yarborough and a sister, Frances (Varnell) Turbeville of Olanta, SC.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. Also, 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Olanta Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Olanta Baptist Church, Olanta, SC. Burial will be in the Byrd Cemetery.

Beatrice Belle Grant Kimrey, 91, died, Thursday, August 19, 2010. Born in Wallace, SC she was the daughter of the late Emmett G. and Maggie Magdeline Chavis Grant. She was the widow of Johnnie F. Kimrey. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and had served as the President of the United Methodist Women. She also, was a member of the Oak Grove Ladies Sunday School Class and had served as Treasurer. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Surviving are her sons, Cecil (Shelby) Kimrey, Julian (Dena) Kimrey, daughters, Wilma (J.C.) Smith, Saundra Kimrey, and a daughter-in-law Roger Kimrey all of Wallace, SC. Also, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, a son, Emmett F. Kimrey and a brother, Henry Grant.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 20, 2010 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Wallace, SC.

Arthur O. Bays, Sr., 90, died Friday, August 6, 2010. Born in Chrisney, IN he was the son of the late Roy R. and Vica Bence Bays. He was a World War II US Navy Veteran. He was a Mason and a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Mr. Bays was retired from Carolina Feed Mill.
Surviving are his sons, Arthur O. (Ruth) Bays, Jr. of Cheraw, SC, Jan (Marilyn) Bays of Florence, SC, daughters, Irene "Reney" (Dan) Gissendanner of West Columbia, SC, JaVerne (John) Threatte McPeters of Lawrenceville, VA, grandchildren, Wayne Threatte, Jr., Minta Threatte, Bence Bays, Maddox Bays, a great grandchild, Carter Bays Thompson, step-grandchildren, Jimmy Gissendanner and Anne Gissendanner.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC. The family will receive friends following the service.
